13 - The Exorcist (1973)

Is The Exorcist the greatest occult film of all time? Was this the ONE horror movie that Lucy was never allowed to watch growing up? And my goodness, has Claire written ANOTHER Broadway song parody to explain the plot of a film she definiteloy has no idea about?! This week, Claire and Luce attempt to answer these questions and more while Reagan patiently hovers near the ceiling. 

12 - Rosemary’s Baby (1968)

Nobody puts Rosemary’s Baby in the corner! This week, Luce and Claire kick off their season on The Occult with the film that arguably kicked it all off. They talk amazing fashion, under-appreciated haircuts and terrible neighbours… with a little bit of Satan thrown in for good measure.

11 - M3GAN (2022)

It's time for a BONUS EPISODE! To celebrate the most ridiculous horror movie to come out in 2022 (we're calling it early), Luce and Claire head to the cinema together to see M3GAN and talk about camp movies, queer horror and the excellent legacy of killer dolls in cinema.

10 - Train to Busan (2016)

In a twist this week, Claire picks one of her favourite movies and a zombie flick that Lucy hasn't seen: the sensational Korean film Train to Busan. You want perfectly choreographed fight scenes? Check! You want hunky beefcake role models showing us nuanced interpretations of fatherhood? Bingo! You want a totally unsolicited musical number and thoughts on train safety? We got 'em! Plus Lucy sheds light on why this movie tears your heart right out (but not in the way you expect). Busan!

9 - REC (2007)

It's Lucy's turn to choose a movie, and you bet she's picked a scary one this week. REC takes the duo into the harrowing walls of an apartment building filled with a creeping infection...and its residents desperate to escape. How did Claire deal with REC's final 10 minutes in particular? Tune in for your amusement!

8 - 28 Days Later (2002)

Exactly how long does it take for society to totally crumble into oblivion after a zombie outbreak? Exactly two fortnights! This week, Claire chooses a harrowing Danny Boyle flick about a misfit band of survivors trying to make their way to safety a little less than a month after an outbreak takes down the population of London. But could it be that there are worse monsters out there than zombies? (Yes. The answer is yes.)
 
 

7 - Rabid (1977)

We're carefully continuing our foray into zombie-filled waters with David Cronenberg's early, and influential, Rabid. Does Claire really want to know where the zombies originated from in this particular movie? Does anyone? The answer, is of course, no, because this is Cronenberg. Plus, hear Claire's thoughts on movie surgery scenes in movies!

6 - Night of the Living Dead (1968)

After surviving the slashers it's time for a new horror genre: Zombies! For the start of their foray into a terrifying new world of undead monsters, it's Claire's time to pick, and once again she has confused about five movies into one. So while she couldn't pick Richard Ramirez's "From Dusk 'Til Dawn" (is that a movie?) she's gone for the next best thing: the classic that arguably kicked it all off, George Romero's 1968 classic "Night of the Living Dead".

5 - Candyman (1992)

It's time to bust out the urban legends. This week, Claire and Lucy dig into the world of the Candyman. Is he a monster (played by Pierce Brosnan) who lives in your toilet? Or is he one of the most iconic horror figures at the heart of a '90s film masterpiece? Either way, by the end of this episode Claire will be saying his name whether she likes it or not (just don't give her a mirror while she's doing it). 

4 - Scream (1996)

What's your favourite scary movie? Claire has done a few slasher movies now, so it's time to go full meta with one of the few horror movies she's already seen (?!) -- the 1996 Wes Craven banger, Scream. Lucy is absolutely here for it. Let's talk self-referential horror, fandom and the joy of a Cox-Arquette meetcute.
